fRENCH DRAIN

Installation and Repair

WHAT IS A FRENCH DRAIN

The French drain or foundation drain is a pipe installed at the base of the foundation to collect water and convey it further from the foundation in order to avoid pressure at that level, which can lead to problems with cracks and water infiltration.

Installed near the foundation sole, the French drain plays a role of great importance. Water can be very damaging to a foundation.

This drainage system protects the structure against any problems caused by outside water. The pipe placed around the perimeter of the foundation circulates the accumulated water towards a ditch or catchment basin which will then be pumped or evacuated by gravity towards a municipal network.
